Man opgepakt voor brand Heerlen
Een rookwolk hangt boven de Akerstraat Henry Veltrop / NOS OoggetuigeDe politie in Heerlen heeft een man aangehouden in verband met de brand van gisteravond in een kamerverhuurcomplex.
Daarbij kwam een vrouw om het leven en raakte een man zwaargewond. De man die is opgepakt wordt verdacht van brandstichting.
De verdachte werd gisteravond al aangehouden. In verband met het onderzoek wil de politie niet zeggen waarvan hij concreet wordt verdacht. Het staat ook nog niet vast dat de brand is aangestoken, maar de politie heeft daar wel aanwijzingen voor.
De brand brak gisteravond uit rond 20.00 uur. Vijf mensen werden uit het complex gehaald, twee van hen waren zwaargewond. Ze werden overgebracht naar het ziekenhuis, waar de vrouw aan haar verwondingen bezweek.

The fire broke out around 8 p.m. last night. Five people were taken from the complex, two of them were seriously injured. They were transferred to the hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries.
